Temperature Changes and Their Impact on Drought Conditions in Winter and Spring in the Vistula Basin

Inter-annual variability of hydro-meteorological variables indirectly influence soil moisture conditions in winter and early spring seasons. The interactions between temperature changes drought are studied by an application statistical analyses minimum (Tmin), consecutive days with exceeding the 0 °C threshold value, number melting pulses season Standardized Evaporation Precipitation Index (SPEI). Additionally, shifts onset snow cover occurrence analysed. A Mann–Kendall test is applied for trend analysis. Studies have shown significant thermal characteristics over past 70 years, which affect Vistula River Basin. As a result those changes, Basin more prone to droughts.
